Omega, Chronostop

Unlike most other chronographs it’s only really meant for recording sub-minute times. You press the top pusher, time your event , push down again and on release it ‘flybacks’ to zero. That’s it. But it never fails to impress and it’s far from being a gimmick.

It was originally released in 1966 as part of the Seamaster collection, but ended up two years later in the Geneve model basket. This is reference 145.009 and Omega used the caliber 865 (as in this example) without a date and the Cal.920 with date. It is manual wind, has 17 jewels and I the serial number dates the watch to 1967.
